Before and After School (Kindergarten and School Age) programs are open 7:30 – 8:45 am, 3:30 – 6:00 pm and 7:30 am – 6:00 pm on PA Days, Christmas & March Breaks. The program is designed for children who reside in the catchment of Northlea School and are enrolled at the Northlea Public School. Educational learning experiences are provided based on children’s interests and needs. NCCC before and after school program promotes children’s well-being by providing healthy snacks that encourages healthy eating habits.
The program supports the kids in their life skills including: ability to express and negotiate their ideas, enhance their empathy towards others, develop problem solving and leadership skills. The programs also focus on promoting the development of significant friendships and social skills. Our activities encourage the children to develop creativity, acquire new skills and knowledge in a variety of areas that prepare the kids for the future when they will be old enough to independently manage their hours before and after school.
Alongside the daily After School program, in September 2017 we introduced ‘clubs’. Children have the opportunity to participate in various clubs that excite them and align with their interests. The children take an active role in choosing the club topics included but not limited to: Sports, Chess, Music/Dance, Cooking, Theater, Fashion, Science, Architects, Math and Art Clubs.
